The slash in blue fin tuna quotas continue to spread and now Malta finds itself having to deal with only 161 tonnes for the coming year. This cut is part of the ongoing recovery plan for blue fin tunas which have been decreasing in numbers. The quota has been going down steadily, having been 331 tonnes in 2008 and 262 tonnes this year.
